Why create a list of links for Parents to click on?

Here's why I started this blog (which is like an UPDATE for PARENTS):

1) Tony Wagner and Ted Dintersmith wrote a powerful book that laid out "what works better than the current testing system in schools" in 2015  See some quotes HERE
2)  Their book, MOST LIKELY TO SUCCEED, describes excellent procedures that have been documented by Dennis Littky (2004) and Tom Toch (2003), as well as Tom vander Ark (in his blog GettingSmart.com)
3) High tech High has been using digital portfolios for years.
4)  Scott Looney's proposal for a "focus on skills" was announced in 2017 and his video channel has videos with fewer that 2000 views.    Mastery.org    SEE an article in the Boston Globe
5)

Who might have seen this material?
ASCD is the publisher of the Dennis Littky book -- and it was distributed to over 70,000 members.   The book cost over $20 in 2004, so few parents saw this book.   A typical use of the book:  a principal in Oregon is using this book in training his staff -- but have many parents heard about this book?  Perhaps not.

Parents and teenagers are perhaps the key audience for this infofmation.   Let's give parents some links to start with.
